Why visit this site?
- Dear Friends/Visitors:
- I created this Web site to help wanta-be entrepreneurs, small business owners, not-for-profit founders, executive directors, and development professionals. I am a SCORE.org volunteer counselor for SCORE Chapter 631 that serves Mercer and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey. I am also an e-counselor at SCORE.org who answers email questions from individuals across the United States. To learn more about the free offerings provided by SCORE.org see www.score.org, and to learn more about SCORE Chapter 631 see www.scoreprinceton.org. This Web site probably will be a resource that will interest entrepreneurs, nonprofit people, and wanta-be public speakers.
Entrepreneurs.
Wanta-be entrepreneurs and small business owners will probably find a use for this Web site. Many of the booklists contained herein refer to resources that can help people on their "growth" journey. Learn to be a good communicator - someone who can read, write, listen, and speak well. Learn to be liked by others - someone who has great people skills. Learn to be a leader - someone who can use his communication skills and people skills to influence others. And learn to be a full-time self promotor - toot your own horn so you can get known. There is also content regarding business plans, and marketing plans.Nonprofit People.
Executive directors at nonprofits, development directors, and fundraising consultants will no doubt find a use for the booklist on topics related to Fundraising for Nonprofits and the Online Directory of Fundraising Firms. I know of no other such resources on the Net. There certainly is a need for them. The booklist will (1) help someone start and manage a nonprofit, and (2) help them supercharge their annual fundraising efforts. The online directory will help them locate a consultant who can help them with capital campaign direction.Wanta-Be Public Speakers.
Other people who will probably find a use for this Web site are members of Toastmasters clubs. Preparing talks for Toastmasters meetings can often be challenging. But the booklists included here can certainly help in providing content for a speech or two. I wished I had had access to such lists when I was working toward my Advanced Toastmaster Bronze award that I received six months after joining Toastmasters. Just go to the list of book titles and then to the many table of contents. People are always interested in a speech on leadership, people skills, sales, and happiness. And people who give speeches are always interested in learning more about public speaking. I included a booklist on Humor because I found writing humorous speeches to be very difficult at Toastmasters.Enjoy using this site, and consider linking your Web site to it. Also, I'd appreciate all of you letting others know about its existence if you find it helpful and a good resource. Good luck in your work, growth and study. All the best,
Enthusiastically, -Jeff
