Jeff's comments:
This book provides a reasonable overview of what to consider and do when deciding to take the leap and become a founder of a nonprofit organization. I thought it was lacking in not discussing (1) feasibility studies, (2) business plans, and (3) fundraising plans. There are not all that many books covering the subject matter of this book. It's better than nothing, but I recommend you search out other titles to supplement it. Definitely consider taking a look at: "Starting and Building a Nonprofit" (ISBN: 1413305784), "Developing Your Case for Support" (ISBN: 0787952451), "The Fundraising Planner" (ISBN: 0787944351), "Publicity for Nonprofits" (ISBN: 141952299X), "Branding for Nonprofits" (ISBN: 1581154348), "Effective Fundraising for Nonprofits" (ISBN: 1413307485), "The Fundraising Feasibility Study" (ISBN: 0470120746), and "Marketing Research for Non-Profit Community and Creative Organizations" (ISBN: 9780750687607). Also, consider downloading two PDF files I have created regarding a Nonprofit Business Plan Template and Evaluation Form for a nonprofit business plan. And don't forget to take a look at my article on A Few Words about Nonprofit Web Site Design.
